Babar Azam, captain of Pakistan is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his sensational knock of 196 runs in the second innings. He says that the plan was simple, that they had to bat throughout, session by session. Tells that they wanted to build partnerships and continue it. Says that the team showed effort and it was great. Mentions that they had the belief and they stuck to that. Informs that they had a complete focus that they will each session no matter what. States that the way Mohammad Rizwan played, in the end, was outstanding as well to save the game. On being asked where he would rate this knock, he says that he just looked to play till the end as his team needed this knock.

Australia skipper, Pat Cummins says that the wicket was pretty good on Days 4 and 5 and they just couldn't convert those half-chances in the field and it was a good game of cricket overall. Mentions that Mitchell Swepson was fantastic on debut and his figures don't do him justice and applauds Nathan Lyon for his effort as well and mentions that he is proud of the boys. Adds that the way they batted and the way they hunted those wickets in the first innings is a big positive for them going into the final Test match at Lahore.

Earlier in the match, Australia scored a mammoth 556/9 on the back of a superb 160 from Usman Khawaja in the first innings. In reply, Pakistan were bundled out for just 148 runs with the Aussie players spitting fire. The Aussies then declared on 97/2 in the second innings with a lead of 505 runs. Chasing 506 to win, the hosts went on to show grit and held on to their nerves to finish on 443/7. The match ended in a DRAW! Stay tuned for the presentation.

Mohammad Rizwan is up for a quick chat. He says that obviously batting five sessions against a top team is a big thing. Tells that the way Australia put up an effort was outstanding as well. Mentions that they kept playing with confidence. Informs that Babar and he planned to go for the chase but it was an old ball and they had to play through. States that the plan was simple and that they had to play five sessions. Credits Abdullah Shafique and Babar Azam for playing brilliantly. Says that there was pressure but they had to work hard and they did that. Adds that everyone knows Babar is a top-class player and he does not need to say a lot about him. Ends by saying that it was not easy to bat for two days as Australia always play to win. Says that they will try to play their best in the next game as well.

The pitch in Karachi was a flat one too but the Aussie bowlers showed their class as they got the ball to reverse in the first innings and were halfway home with that bowling performance. They didn't enforce the follow on and batted for a bit but once again started brilliantly with the ball. The pitch though showed its true colours and late on Day 4, Aussie pacers just couldn't get the ball to reverse enough to trouble the opposition batters. Day 5 was a whole match in itself. The visitors couldn't pick up wickets and kept on losing their advantage. Just when it looked the captains were about to shake hands, Babar Azam in search of a double-ton fell victim to Nathan Lyon who never gave up. Once Babar got out, Faheem Ashraf followed suit and Lyon was spinning a web all over the opponents. He then got his fourth wicket as Sajid Khan was dismissed while trying to have a bit of fun. At that point, Australia almost pulled it back but some sensible batting from Nauman Ali and counterattacking play from Rizwan meant that the visitors had to settle for a draw.

After getting bundled out for just 148 runs in the first innings and chasing 506 runs to win the Test match, the hosts were staring down the barrel of defeat. They were not helped by the fact that the in-form batters, Imam-ul-Haq and Azhar Ali departed early in the second innings. Then came the saving grace on Day 4 as skipper Babar Azam put on a 150-plus run stand with Abdullah Shafique to get his side into a much more comfortable position at the end of Day 4. The pair went on to add a total stand of 228 runs before Shafique got out. They were still hanging by a thread at the point and Fawad Alam fell too. Then came in their most prolific player in the last year or so, Mohammad Rizwan. Slowly but surely the hosts began to take the sting out of the chase and frustrated the Aussie bowlers. Babar went on to surpass Michael Atherton's score of 185 to set the highest individual score by a skipper in the fourth innings of a Test match but fell 4 short of a double ton and the hosts lost a couple more wickets in the blink of an eye. Rizwan kept his cool, scored a century and made sure his team didn't lose the match.

What a riveting final hour of sumptuous cricketing action! After all the drama and the action over the course of 5 hard-fought days, neither team has been able to force a result and the second Test match of the series also ends in a DRAW. Unlike the first Test, there was a chance of either side actually getting a win until late on the final day. Overall, Australia will be disappointed to have let the match slip and on the other hand Pakistan will be very pleased as they managed to turn adversity into strength and saw the match through.

Would have been an elusive double hundred but wasn't to be. Heartbreak for him, heartbreak for the fans and the Karachi crowd is stunned. At that point, the two captains can decide to shake hands and call it a day but Pakistan might not do that, atleast not until their skipper reaches his double-ton. This though will come with risks and Australia might get a few chances. The pendulum has definitely shifted and the visitors might have to settle for a draw at the best or else they might end up letting the match slip out of their grasp completely.

Session Summary - 26 overs, 56 runs, 1 wicket. The wicket of Abdullah Shafique right on the cusp of Lunch opened the gates for Australia and post-Lunch, Fawad Alam did put up a small fight but Pat Cummins bowled his heart out and he got his man. Babar Azam has looked strong as ever and surpassed 150 in the process while Rizwan has come out positive and is showing good support. Both the batters have survived a handful of close shaves but what is important for Pakistan is that they are still at the crease. The pressure is still on Pakistan to survive till the end of the day's play. The equation now -  196 runs | 36 overs | 6 wickets. Australia's hustle to get a breakthrough and Pakistan's resistance on such a pitch is only making things spicier. A Pakistan win is out of the question now but the other two are still on the cards. PITCH UPDATE - Rob Key inspected the pitch during the break. He says that there is a bit of rough but it isn't misbehaving much. With the left-hander out there, the Aussie bowlers may enjoy a bit more purchase from the rough. The conditions though are still good for batting.

... Day 5, Session 2 ...

An engrossing session of Test cricket in which 63 runs were scored and one wicket fell right towards the end of the session. Still, plenty of time left in this Test match for either side to push for the win but realistically the visitors have more of a chance of getting a win but another draw looms large. A very important post-Lunch session coming up in a few minutes time. Stay tuned.

The Aussie bowlers probed and probed without any results but a stroke of genius from the skipper right on the brink of the Lunch break has completely shifted the momentum of the Test match. The visitors still need 7 wickets in two sessions for the win but given that the ball is reversing a fair bit at the moment, both Starc and Cummins will look to make the most use of it right after the interval. Mitchell Swepson took some time to get his line and length up to the mark but Nathan Lyon did bowl really well. The two pacers though hold the key and if they allow the new batters to settle in, the match will keep slipping out of their hands. More than 60 overs to go and that's enough time to get 7 wickets if we go by how the Aussies bowled in the first innings but they need to keep probing and not try to do a bit too much with the ball.

It's time for the Lunch break on the final day of this Test match and things have surely become interesting with Abdullah Shafique getting out just a few minutes before the break. For the most part of the first session though, Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique looked well in control. Babar did look a bit edgy throughout the session but they weren't mightily troubled by pace or by spin. The pair added on 58 runs today and overall they shared a partnership of 228 runs which has seen Pakistan get to a comfortable position. With 252 runs more needed for victory, it seems a bit out of reach for the hosts and they will now look to negotiate the final day. Babar Azam holds the key here because he is the set batter and he needs to ensure that whoever is batting with him, just plays steadily.

Abdullah Shafique is enticed into playing the cover dfrive but it just isn't full enough to drive. Shafique ends up playing a bit away from the body and gets a thick outside edge towards first slip. Steven Smith over there takes a sharp catch and Australia have the breakthrough they so desperately needed and it's the skipper who has stepped up. Heartbreak for Shafique though as he departs for 96 well made runs.

Drinks! Well, it's been a fairly comfortable first hour for the Pakistani batters with both Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique starting to get a few runs as well. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins bowled with pace and intent early on but weren't able to create many chances and the longer the match goes on, the more frustrated the Aussie bowlers are getting. They must believe that it's just a matter of getting one wicket and that could change the momentum considerably. Pakistan though will look to do more of the same. They need 282 runs to win and it will be interesting to see if they do go for the win.

We are set for the play to begin on Day 5! The Australian team is seen in a huddle as the overnight batters for Pakistan, Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique take guard. Mitchell Starc is raring to go with the ball.

At 21/2, it looked so good for Australia and a win seemed on the cards but Shafique and Azam dropped their anchors. Both the batters had answers to everything that was thrown at them and stitched an unbeaten stand of 171 where Azam notched up his 6th Test ton while he found an able partner in Shafique who is also approaching his milestone. Australia didn't find much reverse swing with the first new ball and their spinners also bowled in the rough but to no avail. The second new ball is only two-overs old and they would want to make early inroads now. Can Australian bowlers repeat what they did in the first innings? Pakistan will most likely try to salvage a draw rather than go for a win while Australia would certainly like to hunt for a win as they know it's very much possible. Let's see how the day pans out.

The equation is simple. A day to play out for a draw for Pakistan. If they want to win it, they’ll need to score another 314 runs. Australia need 8 wickets. Babar Azam is up for a quick chat. He says that this one means a lot. Tells that the team needed it. Mentions that the plan was to build a long partnership and take this deep. Adds that the match isn't over as it's a big day tomorrow. Mentions they'll look to continue with the way they played today. Tells that they have practiced against some reverse swing bowling and they try to play it late and closer to the body. Informs that it's the same plan for tomorrow and they want to extend this partnership for as long as possible.

Australia tried it their all in the last session but just couldn’t find the breakthrough. Swepson was excellent, he was the only one who caused all the problems but was a tad unlucky. The wicket also seemed to have eased out or maybe the old ball became a lot easier to face. However, the good thing for the Aussies is, the ball is new, they’ll come fresh on Day 5, the wicket is expected to deteriorate even more but they’ll need to break this stand early. The new ball is their best chance.

Have to credit Azam abd Shafique for the grit, determination and fight they have shown. Azam clearly showing why he is one of the best going around and Shafique showing that he belongs at this level. Pakistan could not lose a lot of wickets heading in Day 5 and they have lost just the two. However, there are another 90 overs pending and they’ll have to continue the good work.

End of an attritional day of Test cricket! Pakistan will be mighty pleased with how it panned out. A wicket-less session in the last one has seen them have a real chance of drawing this game. Yes, an outside chance of winning it too but just being a little realistic.

Australia on the other hand, will be disappointed they could not pick another wicket after getting one early. They could have had Shadfique had Smith held on. Except for that chance, they have struggled to trouble the two batters. There is not a lot on offer for them apart from a couple of balls staying low. The revers swing is not as much as it was in the first innings. They though have to continue to be patient. Another intriguing session awaits. The Pakistan fight back continues! A session quite similar to the first one for them. They lost Ali early but then Azam led the fight back along with Shafique. We though saw a lot more intent from the two batters as they have managed to score at a decent rate in this session. Runs though is surely not what is playing on their mind at the moment and they would hope they can play out another session without losing a wicket.

OUT! LBW! That is unplayable! Green himself can't believe he has a wicket that way. What a move to begin with Green as he strikes on just his second ball. He bangs it shorter in length. Ali looks to duck under it, this one just does not bounce at all. It hits Ali near the thigh pad. An appeal and the finger is raised. Both the batters are having a discussion but time runs out. Perfect start for the Aussies. Ultra Edge shows a spike as it passed the glove. Not sure why the review was not taken there. Ali is such a big wicket, really not good from Pakistan, they wasted a review earlier on when it seemed dead out, this time, there were quite a few doubts but the review was not taken. Wondering how Ali did not realise he did not get glove on it, maybe he was just in shock of how low the ball kept there.

... DAY 4, SESSION 2 ...

Pakistan will be pleased with how things have gone about so far! They would have loved to enter the break with no wickets down but Azhar and Abdullah Shafique have done well to keep it down to just the one after they lost Imam. Australia on the other hand, have done their part, they have bowled with discipline, they were rewarded early but since then, the Pakistan batters have managed to keep out everything bowled at them. The intentions are clear from Pakistan, block everything, they hardly played with any intent and we expect more of the same as the day goes on. Australia on the other hand, will need to be patient. The wicket is offering something for the bowlers, the ball has started to reverse just a wee bit but STILL, it is a good one to bat on. Another important session coming up at 1.10 pm IST (7.40 am GMT).
