He says that it was fantastic the way they batted in the first innings and put themselves ahead in the game, and he thought 350 was a good enough target on this wicket. Mentions that the initial wickets were tough to get but once the ball was old and it started reversing it got better to take wickets. Adds that he is really happy with everyone's performance, and he is happy for Swepson as well, who was a key bowler for them. Concludes by saying that they have been well received in Pakistan and it has been a wonderful experience.

Babar Azam, the skipper of Pakistan, says that it was a great series. Adds that his side gave a good fight tthroughout the series but weren't good enough in the last two sessions on Day 5 of the third Test. Tells that they lost back-to-back wickets in the second session and that cost them. Mentions that they showed great character in the first two Tests but failed to get over the line in Lahore. He applauds the Australian team for the win and also thanks them for coming over to Pakistan after 24 years.

Usman Khawaja is the PLAYER OF THE SERIES for scoring 496 runs across three Tests! He says that they had a lot of fun playing in Pakistan, and he thanks all the Pakistani fans for showing all the support. He says that they have come a long way to play in Pakistan and it was fun. Mentions that they had a target of 350 in mind, as it was tough once the ball started reversing a bit and was confident of his side taking 10 wickets in four sessions. Concludes by saying that he felt that hundred in the last innings was one of the hardest hundreds he has scored.

... THE PRESENTATION ...

Pakistan conceded 391 runs with the ball in the first innings but their batters got them off to a great start as well. Abdullah Shafique, Azhar Ali and Babar Azam made some vital contributions but they completely fell apart when Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc had their tail up with a relatively old ball. They lost wickets in quick succession and conceded a lead of 123 runs in the first innings. In the end, they were set a target of 351 and they did start well on Day 4, thanks to their openers, Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq. However, apart from Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq, none of their batters managed to get in and score big and that cost them. Mohammad Rizwan didn't review when he was adjudged LBW and had he sent it upstairs, things could have been different for Pakistan. But having said that, Australia was just too good for Pakistan in this Test and they deserved to win this Test as well as the series.

Australia have dominated this Test match and they have justified their decision of declaring much earlier on Day 4. It was a combined effort from their batting department which set the tone for them in the first innings. Although, they were under the pump with the ball in the first innings, as Pakistan was cruising along at 248/3. But the duo of Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins came roaring back and ensured that Australia get a handy lead in the first innings. Pakistan lost 7 wickets for just 20 runs and that proved to be the turning point in this Test. The Aussies piled on more runs with the bat in the second innings and it was Usman Khawaja who brought up his second century of the Test series. Australia set a target of 351 for Pakistan and their bowlers gave it their all on Day 5. The GOAT, Nathan Lyon grabbed a five-fer, which also included the prized scalp of Babar Azam. It was Pat Cummins who wrapped things up for his side and he finished with three wickets to his name.

WOW! What an end to this enthralling Test series. Australia are touring Pakistan after 24 long years, and they won the Benaud-Qadir Trophy 1-0. After a couple of draws at Rawalpindi and Karachi, Australia has managed to come out on top in Lahore. They have completely outclassed the hosts and the No.1 ranked Test side thoroughly deserves to win this three-match series. Pakistan would be proud of the way they played throughout the series but disappointed at the end of this game, as their openers toiled hard on Day 4 but they never looked like chasing down the target after losing Abdullah Shafique early on in the first session on Day 5.

The equation is quite simple, Australia need 5 wickets to win this game and clinch the series, while Pakistan need 161 runs from 37 overs. Nathan Lyon began the proceedings by grabbing the big wicket of Imam-ul-Haq. Pat Cummins followed it up and struck twice in two overs and sent back Fawad Alam and Mohammad Rizwan. Reverse-swing is doing the trick for the Aussies and with the new ball now due, it will be interesting to see whether the Aussies opt for it straightaway. Pakistan, on the flip side are in a spot of bother. Babar Azam is leading by example, but there is no support whatsoever from the other end. Although, Babar was also given a life when Travis Head dropped a catch, just at the stroke of Tea.

Three big wickets in the session and just 54 runs were given away, it's safe to say that the second session belonged to the visitors. Pakistan will be under pressure now since Babar Azam is probably their last recognized batter and they have an uphill task ahead of them.

Australia started the session well and it was Cameron Green who struck early by sending back Abdullah Shafique with a peach of a delivery. Starc and Cummins also kept bowling tight lines and lengths and did not allow the batters to free their arms. Lyon spun the ball sharply and he got the prized scalp of Azhar Ali. For Pakistan, Imam-ul-Haq has held one end and he batted well. Although, he will need to bat deep and make sure that he stitches a big partnership along with his skipper. They still need 215 runs to win and they cannot afford to lose wickets heading into the latter stages of this Test match.

Another riveting session of this Test match comes to an end. Australia would be happier of the two sides going into Lunch as they have got those two crucial wickets. Although, Pakistan have managed to score 63 runs from 33 overs in this session and they still have two in-form batters at the crease. The spinners though are getting a lot of turn off the surface and Pakistan's batters will need to be at their very best going ahead.

We have witnessed 14 days of thrilling Test cricket action in this series and it all comes down to this final day, where probably all results are possible. Both sides will be hoping they can bring out their A-game and come out on top.

... DAY 5, SESSION 1 ...

Right then! We have got a real contest on our hands and after 14 days of gruelling Test cricket it all boils down to this - 278 runs versus 10 wickets. Nathan Lyon looked really good with the ball and would want to hit the rough a bit more on Day 5 in order to create more chances. Talking about chances, the golden arm of Marnus Labuschagne almost got the breakthrough right before Stumps but once again Steven Smith was undone by the ball at first slip. At one point, the declaration seemed a good thing but having not picked up a single wicket so far, the Aussies will just be a little nervous coming into the final day of the Test match.

Australia will be a bit disheartened with that bowling performance but they still have plenty of runs to defend on the final day and given their performance in the first innings, the ball reversed pretty late in the innings. So, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins will still be a big threat for the opposition batters. They now have the dilemma to either press the issue early on the final day and take the risk of conceding runs or just stem the flow of runs and then attack later in the day.

The opening pair of Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique has remained rock solid in the final session and due to their efforts, this game hangs right in the balance. Imam and Shafique have added on 73 runs for the opening wicket and reduced the target well under 300 runs. This stand has made sure the hosts have a real chance on the final day of the Test match to not only save it but maybe to snatch the win off Australia's hands. They will have to bat patiently and put away the bad balls though if they do go for the win but Babar Azam will be fairly pleased with how things have ended on Day 4.

Drama right at the end of Day 4 but Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique have managed to remain unscathed! A total of 31 overs were bowled in the final session, with 98 runs being scored and just one wicket going down. Another fascinating day of Test cricket and with just one day remaining in the Test series, we still don't know which team is going to win or even for that matter if there's going to be a winner at all.

Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins didn't get much purchase with the hard new ball and even in the first innings, both of them got the softer ball to reverse and got their wickets. Nathan Lyon has troubled the batters at times but hasn't created a clear-cut opportunity yet. We are ready for the FOURTH INNINGS! The Australian players make their way to the middle and they are followed by the Pakistani opening pair of Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique. Mitchell Starc has the new ball in hand and is raring to go. Let's go...

The hosts were made to toil in the field but things could have been a bit different. Early in the day, they did not go up for a caught-behind appeal. Then Naseem Shah cleaned up Khawaja but off a no ball. There were a couple of dropped catches as well and they can only blame themselves. They have now 121 overs to stay on the crease and somehow manage to draw the game, if not win it. It is a big ask as no team has batted for more than 107 overs in the fourth innings here at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore. First, they have to make sure they get through the 31 over remaining today unscathed or at worst losing just one wicket to have any chance on Day 5 of drawing/winning the game. Babar Azam and his men did bat for more than 170 overs in the previous match but can they do it again?

Here comes the declaration! With the lead exactly 350 runs, Pat Cummins gives the signal from the balcony that they have batted enough. It has been a brilliant display of batting from Australia on Day 4 and all credit goes to their star batter of the series, Usman Khawaja who just keeps on notching up big runs. David Warner was prolific alongside Khawaja at the start of the innings as the pair added on 96 runs for the first wicket. Marnus Labuschagne too got the monkey off his shoulder and batted positively, adding a further 65 runs to the total alongside Khawaja. Usman Khawaja got to his century and Steven Smith took the record of being the fastest man to reach 8000 runs in Test cricket, in terms of innings. With a potent bowling attack that is high on confidence, the Aussies will feel they have a big chance of winning the match.

Floated and full, landing around off, spinning in, Head is forward as he defends it to the off side. Pat Cummins walks out of the dressing room and AUSTRALIA HAVE DECLARED!

We are back for the final session on Day 4 and boy, it's a big one given the context of the match and the series as well. So, Australia lead by 325 runs and will look to add a few quick runs after the Tea break and set a target for their opponents. Steven Smith and Usman Khawaja resume their innings after the interval and the Pakistani players spread out on the field. Naseem Shah to start off with the ball after the break. He's bowled 10 overs so far giving away just 19 runs but hasn't had any success so far in this innings.

... DAY 4, SESSION 3 ...

105 runs in the second session at a run rate just above 4! Job well done by the touring team. They have extended their dominance in this Test match by going ahead by 325 runs. Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne batted for the majority of the afternoon session and dealt with the threat of reverse swing judiciously. The star of the second segment has to be Usman Khawaja, who completed his century and played a big role in keeping the Pakistan bowlers at bay. The hosts bowled well, mainly Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah, but they weren't consistent enough. Pakistan are firmly pushed on the back foot and will be waiting for the declaration now. Of late he has been short of big runs but his form has remained intact.

OUT! CAUGHT! The trap was set and Marnus Labuschagne falls into it perfectly! Nauman Ali is coming from over the wicket, trying to make use of the rough. Ali bowls it a bit quicker and fuller, around the leg stump line. Labuschagne gets down on one knee and has a bit of a swat at it. Labuschagne doesn't time it well enough and the ball flies down off the top edge towards the man stationed at the mid-wicket fence. Sajid Khan takes a simple catch and Nauman Ali is elated. Australia lead by 284 runs.

Ali tries to stem the flow of runs and opts for the negative line. This is way down the leg side and Labuschagne just pads it away.

Extended chat between the bowler and Babar Azam. Nauman Ali seems to be demanding a particular field, Babar though is seen shaking his head. Not sure whether there was any change in the field.

Drinks! It's been a pretty relaxed first hour of the second session for the Australian batters. Usman Khawaja has been able to just knock it around and get the scoreboard ticking. Marnus Labuschagne on the other hand has looked to play a few shots. The Pakistan bowlers are having to toil and even though Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah are getting it to reverse, the opposition batters don't seem to be bothered that much. Australia's lead is worth 267 runs and they will look to add at least 50 odd runs to that before the Tea break. Nauman Ali dropped Labuschagne early in his innings and he's looking to make them pay.

Nauman Ali over there is a bit lazy and just takes a couple of steps back but the ball goes over his head and he can only get fingertips on it. A big opportunity missed for Pakistan.

Doesn't carry! Another good delivery from Shaheen Afridi. He hits the top of off, on a length and angles it in, the ball straightens and takes the outside edge of Khawaja's bat but doesn't carry to Mohammad Rizwan who dives to his left.

FOUR! Shaheen Afridi goes well wide of the crease and just about escapes a no ball call for cutting the return crease. This is a touch fuller and outside off. Khawaja just cuts it late past the slip cordon and picks up a boundary. That came off the bottom edge.

FIFTY! On a fuller length, outside off. Usman Khawaja opens the face of the blade and guides it past backward point. The batters come back for the second with ease and that will be fifty for Khawaja! Yet another solid knock from the batter of the series.

... DAY 4, SESSION 2 ...

Pakistan appeared flat with their bowling in the initial phase. They leaked too many runs and failed to create much pressure in the morning. Although in the second half of the session, the hosts pulled things back a shade and brought the run rate down. It's surely reversing now and that will bring a different challenge for the Aussies. Pakistan's aim would be to utilize the conditions and restrict Australia's lead to under 300, if possible. A crucial session coming up and it will begin at 1.10 pm IST (7:40 am GMT). It was paramount for Pakistan to pick wickets and that too in a heap to stay in the hunt but they managed only one, minutes before Lunch, when Shaheen Afridi obliterated the off stump of David Warner. That was the only success for them and Australia have swelled their lead to 220 runs. The touring team batted with a run rate close to 5 in the first 30 minutes of the session but then slowed down. The intent though remained to score quickly and expect them to continue with the same plan.

Nicely flighted, around off. Labuschagne looks to sweep but gets it off the inside edge towards short leg and that will be Lunch on Day4!

How has that missed the off stump? Sajid Khan comes over the wicket for the right-hander and darts it in from outside off. The ball hits the rough and just turns back in sharply. Marnus Labuschagne makes the leave but is left a bit bamboozled there and maybe a bit lucky as well that the ball doesn't castle into the off stump.

OUT! Cleaned up! What a ripper of a delivery from Shaheen Afridi! Afridi angles it in around off, at 138 kph and this is on a perfect length as well. David Warner just hangs back and looks to get behind the line of the ball. The ball straightens after pitching and Warner is well beaten. The ball hits the off stump and sends it cartwheeling off the ground. On a closer look at the replays, we can detect some reverse swing with the shiny part of the ball inside. Warner played for the inward movement but perhaps it landed on one of the cracks or on the seam of the ball and went straight on. Not to be ashamed of if you get out to such deliveries. Afridi shakes hands with Warner as he walks off and the exciting contest between these two has come to an end. Australia lead by 219 runs.

What has happened there? David Warner is summoned by the umpires but he isn't sure what he has done wrong. The umpires are explaining to him that after he hits the ball, he is running onto the danger area of the pitch. Warner doesn't seem too happy about it and has a few words with the umpires. Babar Azam and Usman Khawaja too get into the conversation. Babar has a chat with Warner who continues to protest and Khawaja tries to explain to the umpires that Warner isn't doing much wrong here. The replays show that the issue is about the big stride forward Warner is putting after he plays the ball.

Drinks break. It's been a rosy morning for Australia. They have scored runs with intent and a brisk rate - 56 in the first hour. The lead is stretched to 190 runs and Pakistan are getting cornered here. Apart from one moment when Naseem Shah breached the defense of Usman Khawaja off a no ball, the hosts have not looked penetrative enough. The shoulders also appear to drop now and they need to create a moment of brilliance to bounce back. Right now, it's one-way traffic.

Given how well the Aussie openers have started this morning, the missed opportunity on 5.3 could prove to be a big moment in the match. While watching it live, there was hardly a noise and Mohammad Rizwan didn't go up either but the replay shows that there was a faint edge off the toe end of the bat. Really difficult to judge in real time but given how close the ball was to the willow, there should have been at least some sort of appeal from the fielding side.

FOUR! This one has gone like a rocket to the fence. Shaheen Afridi attempts to bounce out Warner but the Aussie opener is ready for the challenge. He rides the bounce and eases his pull shot through backward square leg. Timing is great and it speeds away to the fence in no time.

In the ongoing ICC Women's World Cup, things have really spiced up at the business end. The match between South Africa Women and West Indies was forced to be abandoned and both teams shared a point each. Courtesy of that one point, South Africa Women have qualified and also avoided facing Australia Women in the semi-final. In the other game, the defending champions are making a statement. England Women have steamrolled Pakistan Women for 105 and a win here will take them to 6 points, equal with India Women. Now, West Indies Women have played out all their league games and finished with 7 points. Their fate now lies in the outcome of the final game that India and England have in hand. The latter have Bangladesh Women next but for India Women, it's going to be a litmus test against South Africa Women.

The pitch has started to play tricks and we saw quite a few deliveries misbehaving. The bounce is inconsistent and there is a good amount of spin and reverse swing available too. Pakistan's chances at the moment look bleak but if they bowl to their potential this morning and pick a few quick wickets, they can stop Australia from running away with the show. Can the hosts turn up with full force? We will find out soon.

After the first two days, it appeared that this match will also head towards a draw but powered by some great bowling by Starc and Cummins last evening, Australia have eased themselves in the driver's seat. The advantage lies with them and Day 4 is going to be all about extending it further. Can Pakistan stop them from doing that?

Australia's day on Pakistan Day. After two sessions, it appeared that both teams will share the honours but that was not meant to be. Azhar Ali and Abdullah Shafique's 150-run association would have been enough to deflate the confidence of any team but Australia showed great character and kept coming hard at the home team. Babar Azam also played a handy knock but once Fawad Alam was dismissed, the Pakistan innings nosedived. They lost their last 7 wickets for only 20 runs and conceded a 123-run lead.

Great things come from hard work and perseverance. Australia were ready to do the hard work on Day 3. They didn't get any success in the morning but hung in there and always kept their confidence high. Through sheer perseverance, they managed a couple of breakthroughs in the afternoon and eventually the door of fortunes opened for them in the second hour after the Tea break. The deadly duo of Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins joined forces and wickets started to fall left, right and centre. They forced a collapse and ended up hunting down 9 wickets together.
