Profile

Romario soon garnered the attention of the Windies selectors after his consistent performance for Guyana and West Indies A side. His performances in the Caribbean Premier League were also instrumental in bringing his death bowling skills and power-hitting ability in front of everyone on the big stage. Shepherd eventually made his ODI debut for West Indies in 2019 and took two wickets in his debut game.

The T20I debut followed soon in January 2020 against Ireland. He, however, could not cement his place at that time but made an impact in the series against Pakistan after the T20 World Cup, 2021 with his all-round skills. Shepherd was also the second-highest wicket-taker in the Caribbean Premier League, 2021 with 18 wickets in 9 games and also played some handy cameos with the bat. It is his wicket-taking ability and the ability to deliver with the bat in crucial situations that provides him with an edge over others.
