Chandrasinh Raulji, CK Raulji, is an incumbent MLA of the BJP from Godhra. He started his political career in 1990 when he won the Godhra constituency from the Janata Dal. However, in 1991, he joined the BJP and won the bypoll. He served as MLA for two consecutive terms but joined the Shankersinh Vaghela-led All India Rashtriya Janata Party (AIRJP) and lost in the 1998 elections. Later, he joined the Congress party and contested polls from the Kalol constituency. However, he was defeated by BJP's Prabhatsinh Pratapsinh Chauhan. He again contested from the Godhra seat and won it in 2007 and 2012. Just before the 2017 Assembly polls, in October, he joined the BJP again and won. He membered the panel which reviewed the commutation plea filed by the Bilkis Bano gangrape convicts. It is this panel that recommended their release after they completed 14 years in prison. Raulji has been pitted against Congress party's Rashmitaben Dushyantsinh Chauhan and AAP's Rajeshbhai Somabhai Patel Raju.
