Gujarat Elections Results - NCP
The party was founded by veteran politician Sharad Pawar, PA Sangma, and Tariq Anwar on June 19 in 1999 after being expelled from Congress. Despite this, the NCP entered into an alliance with the Congress party to form a government in Maharashtra and the Centre. The NCP, whose president is Sharad Pawar, is active in Gujarat and currently has one MLA. In Kutiyana, Kandhalbhai Sarmanbhai Jadeja defeated BJP's Lakhamanbhai Bhimabha Odedra by 23,709 votes. It was able to receive just 0.62 per cent of the total valid votes polled in 2017. The party contested only 58 seats and 56 candidates lost their deposits. In 2012, the NCP fielded only 12 candidates and won two seats. The party was able to receive 0.95 per cent of the total valid votes polled in the state.
