PITCH REPORT - Mark Richardson and Grant Elliot is pitchside. Mark says that the pitch has a bit of moisture on it and the new ball can generate a bit of movement here for the bowlers. Adds that the batters will need to take a bit of time and assess the conditions. Elliot joins in and says that the seamers will get help on this wicket but once a batter gets set, they can score freely as well.

Michael Bracewell, the captain of New Zealand says that it looks like a great wicket and they want to put up a good score. Adds that they need to quickly adapt to change of format and to the conditions here. Mentions that they have been playing some excellent cricket in recent times and wants the new guys to continue in that fashion. Informs that both Nick Kelly and Muhammad Abbas are making their debuts.

Mohammad Rizwan, the skipper of Pakistan says they will bowl first due to the pitch and the morning conditions. Tells they last played an ODI during the Champions Trophy but want to do well now. Shares they want to play according to the conditions.

Talking about Pakistan, their big names return after a bit of a rest. Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam are back in action but on the flip side the eyes will be on their bowling performance throughout the series as their pace-star bowler Shaheen Afridi has been excluded from the squad, leaving Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah to take the bulk of responsibility. Pakistan need to come out with a fresh approach and some energy despite all the things which are happening in the cricketing world.
