Vipin Singh Parmar is the incumbent Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. He was born on March 15, 1963, in Bengaluru. After pursuing his primary education in a school at Nanaon village, Vipin Singh Parmar studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dharamshala. He has a PGDCA and LLB from HP University, Shimla. He held several key positions in the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) between 1982 and 1995. In a by-poll, he ran for the Sullah Vidhan Sabha seat for the first time in 1995. In Kangra district, Parmar has had numerous positions in the BJP leadership such as district president, president, vice president, etc. However, his first win came in the year 1998 when he became an MLA from Sullah. He served as Minister of Health and Family Welfare between 2017 and 2020. At present, he is serving as the Speaker since 2020.
